Dr. Jeffrey Stewart, the former provost of Florida SouthWestern State College, was placed on paid administrative leave three days before he resigned.

We confirmed that there is an on-going employee investigation, and as a result of that investigation, Stewart was placed on paid administrative leave on July 20.

He resigned on July 23.

In his resignation letter to the president, Stewart said he was resigning "to focus on my family and my health."

But just three days before he sent that letter, we were able to get a hold of this email that human resources sent Stewart, telling him he was being "placed on administrative leave pending resolution of a current employment investigation."

That email also said that Dr. Stewart is not allowed to come on college property until the investigation is resolved.

FSW's Director of Communications Teresa Araque declined to comment, telling us that “FSW does not comment on personnel matters.”

We also reached out to Stewart, but he has not responded.
