Joyce forms in the Atlantic

Joyce has formed out of an area of low pressure that's been moving across the Atlantic for several days.

It's begun to acquire some tropical structure, which is why it was named a subtropical storm Wednesday.

The forecast from the National Hurricane Center calls for Joyce to meander about the area that it just formed in for a couple of days and possibly become a full-fledged tropical storm.

The long-term forecast for Joyce takes it northeast towards Europe. The remnants of Joyce and Helene are likely to meet up in that region in about a week.
