LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -

Another Lee County business suffered damage from burglars after they smashed several holes in the building to get inside.

The latest heist happened at the Marco's Pizza on Bell Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.

Lee County deputies were called to the pizzeria around 9:30 Monday morning, and investigators with their Crime Scene Unit soon followed.

“Everything was a mess. Just a mess," said Marco's Pizza employee, Brittany Crowley.

Crowley said she and other employees were shocked to find a hole in their wall, and the restaurant's safe plundered out of cash.

According to the franchise owner, the crook entered the building from the back by breaking into a door of a future cell phone shop. From there, the thief made a hole giving access into the neighboring nail salon business. A second hole was then smashed open connecting the salon to the pizzeria.

Last week, thieves pulled off a similar heist at a T-Mobile store in Cape Coral and at Jack's Market in Lehigh Acres. So far police have not made any arrests.

“If it’s going to keep happening around, whose next? What else can be done?" Crowley said.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office has not said if the string of burglaries are related.
