LEE COUNTY, Fla. -

A Lee County woman is accused of burning her own father's home to the ground on purpose.

Everything Mara McCabe, 57, told the Iona-McGregor Fire District Fire Marshal at the scene yesterday is blacked out in her arrest report. But whatever she said led the Fire Marshal to start investigating her for arson.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies said by the time they arrived, after midnight, flames had already engulfed the residence at Tropicana mobile home park off McGregor Boulevard. A witness told investigators they saw McCabe walk out of the home right before it burned down.

Deputies said McCabe's father was away during the fire, in the care of Home for Hospice.

The fire damaged a couple of other homes next door.

It was the third time McCabe has been booked in Lee County Jail. The Fire Marshal told us he can't comment for now because this case remains an open arson investigation.
