A crash in Fort Myers that caused significant traffic build up on Saturday sent at least one person to the hospital.

Fort Myers Police officers were pursuing a vehicle in the area of Colonial Boulevard and De Leone that they had a warrant out for around 11 a.m. When that driver noticed the cops, he took off.

The driver eventually lost control and crashed into at least two other vehicles, yet still tried to get away, according to police.

The suspect was taken to the hospital once police eventually stopped him, however the extent of his injuries are unknown.

Authorities haven't said if anyone else was injured, and haven't released the identity of the suspect.

As a result of the crash, heavy traffic grew on an ordinarily crowded Colonial Boulevard.

All lanes have since reopened.
