Troopers find drugs in car after serious crash off Alico Road

Troopers arrested a man on drug charges after he crashed off of Alico Road on Tuesday morning.

Dylan Zaccagnini, 27, of North Fort Myers drove off the road and hit several trees at Interstate Commerce Drive and Corporate Commerce Way. Zaccagnini sustained minor injuries while his passenger, 39-year-old Jeremy Campen, was seriously injured. Both were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities investigated the crash and found that Zaccagnini was celebrating his birthday. He was impaired and arrested for driving under the influence involving a serious injury. 

Troopers also found a bag with 97 THC cartridges labeled "MaryJane Gelato Vape Cartridge THC 82%" and a digital scale.

Zaccagnini was further charged with drug possession with intent to sell, drug possession equipment, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and probation violation.
