Firefighter on leave after recording house sitter with hidden camera

A Charlotte County firefighter was arrested in Sarasota Friday night for setting up a hidden camera to record his house sitter.

Perry Carter, 33, was charged with video voyeurism after detectives found compromising video of the 23-year-old who was taking care of his house. He has been placed on paid administrative leave.

Carter set up the camera in his bathroom disguised as a speaker. It captured video of the woman while she was naked.

The victim was made aware of the video after Carter's wife contacted her and sent a screenshot. His wife saw the footage because she suspected Carter was having an affair and searched their shared computer. On it, she found pornographic images and video of the victim in the bathroom.

There were 61 videos found and Carter was charged on eight counts. He is still in Sarasota County Jail on a $28,000 bond.
