Florida State University closing ahead of Hurricane Michael

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State University will close its campus Tuesday through Friday ahead of Hurricane Michael's expected landfall Wednesday. 

FSU will close both the Tallahassee and Panama City campuses at 12:01 a.m. On-campus housing and dining services will continue through the closing. 

The university expects to resume classes Monday, Oct. 15. 

"FSU is prepared to support students throughout the storm. All university departments are engaged and prepared to respond to student needs. Students who choose to stay will be advised to follow a 'shelter in place' protocol. That is, stay indoors, away from doors and windows during the storm. Meals will be delivered to the residence halls during the storm," the FSU alert reads.
