The fifteenth tropical cyclone of the Atlantic hurricane season formed early Tuesday morning about 1000 miles east of Africa.
The tropical depression evolved from a tropical wave over the past couple of days and is expected to continue to strengthen for the next day or two. Late Tuesday or early on Wednesday this system should become Tropical Storm Nadine.
The immediate future of this system looks like a short one.
The storm will only spend a few days as a tropical storm before weakening back to a depression this weekend.
As we head into next week, the environment remains highly unfavorable for development, and the storm will likely dissipate.
NBC2 will continue to monitor everything going on in the tropics and bring you relevant updates from the First Alert Hurricane Center.
